BHARATHA KALAKSHETRA:

Smt. Anuradha Renganathan established Bharatakalakshtra in 2006, naming it as such in fond memory of the amphitheater at her Alma Mater (Kalakshetra, Chennai, India), where she discovered the artist in herself.

She established the school in order to impart this beautiful art form to the aspiring dancers growing up in this country. She does so with a firm adherence to her Kalakshetra background, and a passionate aspiration and utmost dedication to help mold a new generation of classical dancers.

Students of the Bharatakalakshetra School of Fine Arts have won multiple awards in Bharatanatyam competitions across the Globe, and have taken on multiple stages across the tri-state area.

At the Bharatakalakshetra School of Fine Arts, Guru Anuradha Renganathan hones her students into passionate, disciplined dancers who hold Bharatanatyam to its highest pristine glory. At Bharatakalakshetra, students are taught that Bharatanatyam is not merely a material pursuit, but that it is a sacred journey.

Students at Bharatakalakshetra not only learn dance, but are also introduced to yoga, body conditioning, Hindu mythology, dance theory, nattuvangam, and aspects of layam which pertain to dance.

At BKS, students are also taught to build a strong network among themselves to help them grow as wholesome dancers.

To the students, Bharatakalakshetra is not just a dance school, but it is a family and a community that they will be a part of for the rest of their lives.
